asia news in pictures

The Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism (ACFJ) at Ateneo de Manila University launched a roadshow exhibit last night in SM North Edsa The Block called Asia News in Pictures. The exhibit features six photo essays and 25 single pictures taken by some of the most talented and passionate graduates of the Diploma Course in Photojournalism.

I went there to cover the event but mostly to socialize with the graduates and the other photojournalists. Its good to see almost everyone my classmates, batch mates in Philippine Center for Photojournalism (PCP), teachers, photographers that I've worked with and PJs that I've seen on the field.

I've seen the photo exhibit during the opening of our class in Ateneo last June but seeing them in a mall has a different effect because it inspires me to strive harder in class and to hope that next time the photos that they will exhibit will come in our batch :) Its also a good thing that ACFJ decided to exhibit the works of Asian photographers instead of the usual winners of the World Press Photo, I hope they will continue to do this in the succeeding years.

The first leg of the exhibit roadshow will run at the 3rd Level of The Block, SM North EDSA. It will then go to other SM Malls all over the country till December 2010.
