On the eve of National Heroes Day, Philippine Center for Photojournalisms held a vigil in Mendiola as a solidarity on their fellow journalists who die in the Ampatuan massacre. People who joined it light candles and pin the names of the victims in a black coat surrounding the statue of Chino Roces. The day after the vigil, National Press Club together with militant groups and other people march in the Mendiola to stage a rally condeming the Arroyo governtment as one of the people responsilbe on the killings and asking for justice to their comrades.
