Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints(a short photo essay on the Biak-na-Bato caves)

In the farthest part of Bulacan province near the Nueva Ecija borders, lies the small town of Biak na Bato. This quiet place, surrounded by caves and boulders, holds a significant value in Philippine history. The walls of its caves have been silent witnesses to the signing of the Pact of Biak na Bato, between Gen.Emilio Aguinaldo and Spanish Governor-General Primo de Rivera, that pave way for the founding of the Biak na Bato Republic in November 15, 1897. This serves as the Philippines first step to becoming the First Republic in Asia.

As I visited the place, it gave me a renew admiration to our brave and smart Katipuneros. It also made me appreciate once again our rich history through the silent and darkness of the caves.
